Based out of NYC, The Interim Project superimposes powerful melodies and thoughtful lyrics over a guitar-driven backdrop, producing music that’s sometimes equal parts grunge and pop. The songs are primarily written by guitarist Huy Hoang, who grew up heavily influenced by 90′s alternative rock (Belly, Lemonheads) and UK-rock bands (Ash, Oasis, Stereophonics). But every member of the group provides creative input. Bassist Mike Chun brings the alt-country feel of Wilco and the Jayhawks to the table, while drummer Mike DeLouker's repertoire ranges from death metal to pop. These varied influences help The Interim Project produce its unique mix of energetic hard-rock riffs and pop sensibilities.
